Vanessa Rodriguez is a petite woman who walks tall. Always being ambitious and an animal lover, Vanessa found herself drawn to smaller breed dogs that could be packed in a small carrier and toted around with her while she was receiving an education or pursuing a passion. From her rambunctious Maltese “Unique” to her spoiled Tea Cup Maltese “Sunshine”, it wasn’t until 2013 when she locked eyes with the sweetest little Pit bull terrier she’d ever seen when it was unexpectedly placed in her arms, that her life would change fur-ever. If Vanessa hadn’t witnessed a very close friend of hers who was also petite and who owned a larger than life Pit bull, she may have looked vehemently to find another home for this little Pit bull puppy, because up until Vanessa observed the love, affection and unmeasurable loyalty of the breed through her friend’s relationship with her Pit bull, Vanessa had bought into the hysteria of fear and bad publicity that the media has broadcast around the world on Pit bull dogs and any breed that resembles them. Naturally objective, Vanessa had educated herself on Pit bull’s and many other breeds by researching statistics, and observing body language. Since Vanessa knows that love has no labels, that all living things should be judged on their individual merits, and the fact that it was love at first site, she made the decision to parent the little blue nose puppy. Recognizing the tiny pups captivating personality and performance qualities, she naturally named her “Star”! Being a Pit bull parent while being fully aware of the stigma attached to the breed, steered Vanessa on a journey that would be the creation of “Dogcipline Inc.”
Armed with a lifetime of dog-related experience, knowledge and skills, Vanessa formalized her passion with further education. She’s a Member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers and has successfully completed certifications from DogTec Dog Walking Academy, Anthony Jerone’s School of Dog Training, a certification in Pet Emergency First Aid and CPR, a graduate of CATCH (Canine Trainers Academy),The Ferndog Trainer Academy and an AKC Puppy S.T.A.R and Canine Good Citizen Evaluator. To say that Vanessa Rodriguez has never met a dog she didn’t like would be an understatement. She currently is a mom to two adorable Pit Bulls named "Star & Sugar"
